U guys may find this interesting:
In the spirit of acting locally, I coordinate a "TV-OFF Week in Kamloops"
each year (inspired by the work of Adbusters Magazine) The City of Kamloops
gives deals on its recreation (very cool the Municipality is on side), we
publish statistics on the over use of TV, alternatives list to television,
promote arts & culture events, and (of course) throw about twenty TV's off
the roof of our local coffee shop. About 200 people attended last year.

Several interesting and totally unplanned thangs:
-last year several people brought their own, working TV's and threw them off
the roof! Ahhhh the poetry of it.
-several people asked if they could write and perform TV related poetry at
the event, which they did.
-the media loves it (and we love watching the TV's fly on the 6 news)
-we culture jam signage around town lampooning tv, couch potatoes, white
bread culture and the like.

I am probably out to lunch when I say i actually think that its having a
small effect! Children are astounded by it.......they had no idea that this
could be done & not have the TV Police or sumtin come bustin outta da van.
lol.

Micheal welcome to a most interesting 30 minutes of reading per day.........

Question: What would we have if we all painted our cars pink? Anyone?

Feelin Swave and DeeBoner,
Vaughn
